Jake Paul ranks as one top-notch young guns in the modern boxing era. In just a couple of years, the YouTuber turned boxer pinned himself as one true hotshot, who’s not just expanding his footprint as a boxer, but also as a promoter. That said, Jake Paul is right at the top of whatever he’s doing and also comes up with some unusual statements.

Recently, Paul came up with an absurd claim citing Deontay Wilder’s story. He was in an interview with Eddie Hearn on iFL TV. Here, Paul came up with a unique notion to Hearn’s statements.

The Matchroom boss first said, “I just don’t feel you can walk into the sport in your 20s, and go on and be an elite fighter.”

“That’s what Wilder did. I mean, Deontay Wilder is one of the few who have done it, but and he’s an inspiration in that sense to me, but no one thought, I can do anything that I’ve done,” responded Paul.

Deontay Wilder began boxing at the age of 20 in 2005. He trained at the Sky Boxing Gym in Alabama under Jay Deas. After lacing up the boxing gloves, Wilder never looked back, and his success is no less than a fairy tale. Taking inspiration from that, Jake Paul is supremely confident about making waves in the sport.
