Earlier this month, Las Vegas witnessed history inside Allegiant Stadium. Under the bright lights and before a roaring crowd of 70,482, Canelo Alvarez and Terence Crawford collided in what was billed as a generational showdown. When the dust settled, it was Crawford’s hand raised—a victory that not only crowned him the undisputed super middleweight champion but also etched his name into the record books as the first man to conquer three divisions as an undisputed king. The spectacle wasn’t confined to the arena.

On screens across the globe, more than 41 million fans tuned in live on Netflix, making it one of the most-watched fights in recent memory—though still shy of the jaw-dropping 108 million who streamed Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson last November. Now, the streaming giant is gearing up for its third boxing spectacle: Jake Paul vs. Gervonta Davis exhibition on November 14. And if early buzz is any indication, the exhibition has already outshone Canelo-Crawford, according to Boxing Only Full Fights on Instagram.

Early numbers put Canelo Alvarez vs. Terence Crawford in the back

According to a post from Boxing Only Full Fights, “Looks like from the first face off numbers, Jake Paul vs Gervonta Davis will be even bigger!” The post noted that Canelo Alvarez and Terence Crawford’s first face-off for their fight drew “6.6 Million Views [and] 304K Likes,” whereas in just two days Jake Paul and Gervonta Davis’ exhibition face-off had already racked up “14.4 Million Views [and] 462K Likes.”

This surge in attention can largely be credited to Jake Paul’s pull among casual fans, who recognize him more readily than Canelo or Crawford. Known for his marketing savvy—having already delivered the Tyson fight—Paul has created buzz around the idea of seeing an active, prime fighter like Gervonta Davis test him, even though Paul is much bigger than the Baltimore native.

The stakes are further heightened by the fact that this exhibition will declare a winner, unlike most exhibitions, even if the result won’t count toward either fighter’s official record. Still, despite its popularity, Jake Paul vs. Gervonta Davis is already facing allegations of being a scripted boxing match, a claim often attached to Paul’s bouts. Yet, as of now, no definitive evidence has emerged to support those accusations.

Regardless, the Jake Paul vs. Gervonta Davis card has been stacked with strong undercard matchups, aiming to draw in even the boxing purists.
