The road to fight night for Jake Paul vs. Gervonta Davis continues to be anything but smooth. After being rejected by the Georgia Athletic Commission over their absurd weight agreement, Paul’s Most Valuable Promotions managed to secure approval from the Florida Athletic Commission to stage the one-of-a-kind exhibition bout in Miami, Florida, though not without strict conditions.

The fight, scheduled for 10 three-minute rounds, will be contested at a maximum weight of 195 pounds with 12-ounce gloves. Uniquely, the exhibition will still declare a winner even if no knockdowns occur. Despite these changes aimed at making the event more appealing, the matchup has reportedly struggled to generate fan enthusiasm, with ticket sales for the Kaseya Center event—set to stream live on Netflix on November 14—falling short of expectations.

Jake Paul vs. Gervonta Davis declared dead on arrival
According to boxing insider Rick Glasser, the organizers were forced to drastically cut ticket prices after disappointing sales. “Tickets for the Tank Davis-Jake Paul Boxing exhibition in South Florida on @Netflix are absolutely D.O.A., that’s Dead On Arrival, & the prices are now slashed deeply,” he wrote on X. “It proves that this freak show is even too much of a freak show for even the freaks!!!”

Jake Paul, of course, enjoyed his biggest success last November against Mike Tyson, when 72,300 fans filled the AT&T Stadium in Arlington for their Netflix-streamed bout. According to Fortune, the fight generated $17.8 million in gate revenue alone, not to mention its record-breaking global viewership on Netflix. Attendance and gate figures for Paul’s subsequent fight against Julio Cesar Chavez Jr., however, remain a mystery.
Given the sluggish ticket sales for his upcoming matchup, it’s reasonable to assume that Mike Tyson’s star power and past indestructible aura played a major role in the previous event’s success. And with no pay-per-view model for the Gervonta Davis fight on Netflix, the exhibition will likely aim to drive new subscriber growth to justify the substantial payouts both Davis and Paul are expected to receive.
But how much exactly are the two stars making from the fight?

Paul vs. Davis purse details
The upcoming exhibition clash between Paul and Davis is set to generate staggering paydays for both fighters. Reports suggest the total purse for the bout is around $90 million, split 55/45 in favor of Paul. The YouTuber-turned-boxer is expected to take home $50 million, while Davis will earn approximately $40 million.
During a stream with Adin Ross, Paul was asked about his earnings, with Ross estimating he would make between $50 million and $100 million. Paul replied, “You’re closer on the first number… People are like, $200 million! But boxing is not like that anymore. But, still, it’s a lot of money. It’s NFL quarterback money.”
Adding further intrigue, Paul confirmed on the DOUBL3 COVERAGE Podcast that a massive knockout bonus is on the line, saying, “If someone knocks the other one out, they’re gonna get a big, big bonus.”
From the looks of things, Jake Paul and Gervonta Davis are making bank out of their absurd fight next month, even though Glaser’s report suggests most people aren’t that interested. But what do you think about the fight? Would you pay for it?
