Ryan Garcia is all set to fight Devin Haney on April 20 at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York. However, nobody seems to be quite sure whether Garcia has what it takes to beat the former undisputed champion. And making the same point today, Jake Paul warned the Victorville native on social media. ‘The Problem Child’s’ concerns align with many boxing fans who believe Ryan isn’t dedicated enough to win the fight against Devin. Garcia’s bizarre behavior on social media lately, coupled with his recent admission to drinking and smoking marijuana in one of the Devin Haney fight press conferences, has made the boxing community question his commitment to the sport.

Garcia and Haney started their boxing careers practically side by side, their accolades in the sport are quite different. While Garcia was able to nab the WBC interim lightweight title in 2021, he has nothing else to show for his time in the sport. On the contrary, Haney has held multiple world titles in different weight classes, something not every boxer can achieve. So, after joining Garcia’s X space, Paul didn’t shy away from telling the truth!

Ryan Garcia claims Devin Haney has pillow hands!

Boxing n BBQ recorded and shared the entire conversation on X between Garcia and Paul. In the recording, Paul and Garcia can be heard discussing Garcia’s upcoming fight when Paul says, “Honestly, I am worried for you with Devin.” To this, Garcia responded, claiming, “Oh my god. Devin has pillow hands. You know that.” Interestingly, Garcia and Devin have fought each other six times.

So, Garcia should have a good idea of what fighting Haney might feel like. However, a lot of time has passed since their amateur fights. So, responding to Garcia’s ‘pillow hand’ comment, Paul said, “Not at 140.” Garcia added, “He dropped f**king Regis and didn’t do s**t. You have a better killer instinct than Devin, bro.”

To this, Paul highlighted that Devin was never known for his power. Rather, what wins him fights is his technique and skills. “Regardless of power, that’s not his best attribute necessarily. His best asset is his technique and skills to pay the bills in this s**t. And he got the best jab, probably, in boxing right now,” said Paul.

Not ready to give up, Garcia retorted, “When I out-jab him, what are you [going to] say then?” While Paul and Garcia seemed to be on somewhat good terms during this conversation, that wasn’t the case in their tweets to each other a while back!

A potential fight between ‘King Ry’ Garcia and Jake Paul?

Following Paul’s spectacular win over Ryan Bourland on 2 March, Garcia seemed frustrated by Paul’s continued dominance. Garcia tweeted, “I’m going to end this JAKE PAUL BOXING THING. BRING IT ON JAKE IM DEAD F***ING SERIOUS F**K YOU!” However, this was just the tip of the iceberg. Garcia then shared a voice message targeted at Paul.

“I can’t do this s**t, I feel so f**king bad for introducing Jake Paul to boxing. I f**ked up. I can’t allow this to happen. I can’t. I can’t. He’s disrespecting my sport,” said Garcia. Responding to Garcia’s relentless attacks, Paul said, “I have said he’s doing off some cocaine. That boy is getting that s**t straight from Colombia. You’ve gotta chill out. You just seem like you’re losing your mind.”

With that said, Jake Paul joins countless others who think it would be a very tough challenge for Ryan Garcia to defeat Devin Haney in their upcoming fight. However, Garcia seems unfazed by any of these assessments. Even still, only time can tell what happens next! Do you think Garcia has what it takes?
