Jake Paul’s mystery opponent revealed

In an interview with TalkSport, Hearn claimed he’d heard that Jake Paul will face Tyson Fury’s half-brother Tommy Fury in August after their initial fight fell through due to Fury suffering an injury. Hearn had this to say, “I don’t represent them, but I hear that fight [Paul vs Fury] is happening August 13, so you might see it. Both are very limited, but as long as it’s a competitive fight, it doesn’t really matter”

He then went on to praise Paul for his contribution to boxing and shares his experience working with him, “Jake Paul is a strange one, but I like what he’s doing for boxing. I did Amanda Serrano vs Katie Taylor with him and it was great fun. It was a big success.

Jake Paul has already announced on social media that he would return on August 13, although there is no opponent currently finalized. There are many potential options who have been teased including former UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva, who recently won against Bruno Machado in an exhibition boxing match.

On the other hand, Paul and Fury were initially set to fight at the end of 2021. But Fury pulled out of the fight and was replaced by former UFC champion Tyron Woodley for a rematch. Paul then won the match, knocking out Woodley in the sixth round.

A fight against Tommy Fury seems like a substantial challenge for Paul. Moreover, both Paul and Fury are undefeated with records 0f 5-0 and 8-0 respectively, and Paul is yet to face a ‘real boxer’ like him. It seems that ‘TNT’ is the best opponent for Paul right now as Silva might just be too old and past his prime for the 25-year-old YouTube star.
