What comes to mind when talking about Jake Paul? A brash YouTuber turned boxer who likes to stir the pot with his trash talk and then somehow pulls it off in the ring, right? Well, ‘El Gallo’ has fully embraced that bravado-filled personality, which some fans love and others can’t stand. However, behind the loud persona, Paul has also taken part in charitable work that has helped shape his emotional side as well.

On December 19th, ‘The Problem Child’ will take on undoubtedly the biggest challenge of his career. At the Kaseya Center, Jake Paul is going to face Anthony Joshua in a heavyweight boxing fight with all the odds stacked against him. As a massive underdog, the YouTuber-turned-boxer will look to upset the entire boxing world as he aims to knock out the former two-time heavyweight champ. But before all that unfolds on judgment day, let’s shift our eyes off the ring and look at Paul’s charitable work.

What is Jake Paul’s Boxing Bullies charity foundation?

Jake Paul established the Boxing Bullies Foundation to promote boxing throughout Puerto Rico. Inspired by his own boxing journey, the 28-year-old wanted to expand his love for the sport, and he believed opening a charity would be the best way to reach people.

“Our mission at Boxing Bullies is to help instill confidence, courage, and leadership into the youth through the sport of boxing. Boxing gave me purpose, it gave me something to fight for, so I am hoping to be able to share that with you guys, because I think it is the best sport in the world.” Jake Paul stated at the launch of Boxing Bullies back in 2021.

Now, as Paul’s vision to bring boxing into the Puerto Rican people’s lives definitely sounds like enough of an inspiration, Boxing Bullies isn’t only about spreading the sport. It’s also about taking a stand against bullies. Furthermore, ‘El Gallo’ also explained that he was once a bully himself and understood that it can negatively affect people’s lives. That’s why he wanted to see some change and opened this foundation.

“Our mission is to fight back against bullying because bullying is such a prevalent problem in our generation. And having been a bully myself, it’s okay to realize that you’re bullying and stop it and change and become a better person, and that’s our mission is at Boxing Bullies.”

So, Jake Paul’s Boxing Bullies stands for spreading boxing and fighting against bullies, built around those two core fundamentals. But to run a massive organization like that, it required significant funding, so he decided to raise a million dollars and also donated his fight purse to support the cause.

‘El Gallo’s $1 million fundraising and fight purse donation to renovate Puerto Rico gyms

When it comes to marketing, there are very few people as intelligent as Jake Paul. For instance, after he knocked out former UFC champ Tyron Woodley in March, the YouTuber-boxer hosted an after-party to raise funds for the Boxing Bullies foundation, where he raised a million dollars, all of which went to his charitable organization. But that’s not all.

Last year, Paul made a very big promise which earned him a lot of respect. Ahead of his fight against Golden Gloves winner Ryan Bourland, ‘The Problem Child’ revealed that he would donate his fight purse to the Boxing Bullies charity to renovate boxing gyms in Puerto Rico.

“I’m actually going to be donating my entire fight purse to Boxing Bullies to renovate more gyms in Puerto Rico,” Paul said, according to Mundo Deportivo.

The YouTuber-turned-boxer brutally knocked out Bourland in Round 1 to win the fight. However, there aren’t any concrete reports on how much he earned from the fight and how he spent that amount in Puerto Rico. But the WBO posted on Facebook last year, where Jake and Amanda Serrano went to check out a newly renovated boxing gym on the island.

“WBO, JAKE PAUL’S BOXING BULLIES, AND AMANDA SERRANO UNVEILED RENOVATED GYM IN CAROLINA, PUERTO RICO! The event was a complete success!” WBO wrote on the Facebook post.

Now, ‘El Gallo’s charitable contributions extend beyond the boxing realm.

Paul’s notable donations to some UFC fighters

One of the most noticeable charitable acts of Jake Paul’s career has to be him helping his former opponent Ben Askren. During ‘Funky’s double lung transplant, the MMA legend needed significant monetary help, and ‘The Problem Child’ allegedly donated $500,000 in the form of medical aid.

It was an account named Rugby League that revealed Paul donating the massive amount on X, which was then reposted by Amanda Serrano, almost confirming the fact. The YouTuber-turned-boxer also once donated $10,000 to UFC fighter Mike Malott when he was running a cancer fundraiser for his coach, while also taking a dig at the low pay in the UFC.

So, with all those presented examples, it’s clear that Jake Paul doesn’t only use money for luxury. He also uses it to help other people as well. That said, do you think ‘El Gallo’ will also donate his Anthony Joshua fight purse to charity? Let us know in the comments section down below.
