Boxing legend Floyd Mayweather is set to compete in another exhibition match following his victory over YouTube sensation Deji back in November for the first-ever broadcasted fight in the metaverse. He will face the reality TV show Geordie Shore star Aaron Chalmers, in his first bout in the United Kingdom.

Although Mayweather was initially supposed to face Liam Harrison, the fight was called off after the latter pulled out seven hours after the announcement. Moreover, Chalmers was then announced as the replacement. This fight might not have been a ‘godsent’ for fans, but former Bellator star and Jake Paul’s teammate Anthony Taylor was certainly upset that ‘Money’ didn’t choose him after plans for a fight between them were rumored. In addition, he expressed his dissatisfaction by calling out the five-division champion on social media.

Floyd Mayweather gets called out by Jake Paul’s teammate

Taylor took to Twitter and expressed his shock at this announcement. He called out Mayweather and insinuated he was a ‘loser’ for picking Chalmers over him. “@FloydMayweather you turned down my fight to fight @AaronCGShore,” he wrote with a mocking gif in the post.

Taylor recently had a chance to prove his worth as a boxer in KSI’s misfit event. He faced Idris Virgo who beat the former with a points victory and looked more than comfortable in the fight. The Bellator fighter on the other hand looked gassed as his cardio was clearly not up to the mark. This certainly poses some questions as to why he would call out Mayweather.

While a fight against Chalmers will not be a blockbuster matchup, it is hard to say that Taylor would provide anything different in this fight.

Mayweather reveals why he ‘switched’ opponents for his UK exhibition

In a statement at a press conference ‘Money’ revealed the reason why he had to change his opponents. He cited bad injuries as the reason for this and praised Chalmers for stepping up for the challenge, “I was originally supposed to face a different opponent, but injuries happen and I’m glad that Aaron Chalmers could step up so that we could give the fans what they want,” he said.

This fight is scheduled for 25th February and will be a great spectacle for fans in the UK. Moreover, with this being Mayweather’s first fight in the U.K, media and fans’ attention will be high for the event despite the opponent not being a very known fighter.
