Gervonta Davis and Floyd Mayweather don’t seem interested in going after Jake Paul at this point. They seem focused on Tank’s upcoming WBA lightweight title defense against Rolando Romero, which will happen at the Staples Center on December 5. However, the duo may have to turn heads towards Jake Paul, who is constantly taking shots at them on social media.

After the first official presser of Davis vs Romero, Paul demeaned the WBA lightweight champion several times. He ordered Mayweather to advise Davis about leaving his name out of his mouth. Besides, Paul also mocked Gervonta Davis’ height and the ability to sell PPVs. All of these seemed to be casual banter until Jake Paul launched personal attacks on the elite boxers.

Jake Paul tweeted out some moments of past, recalling when Mayweather and Davis had beaten their partners. ‘The Problem Child’ wrote, “Gervonta Davis and Floyd Mayweather both beat up their baby mothers. That’s what you call a f**king clown. Two clowns don’t make a right.”

A few months back, Jake Paul posted a picture on Instagram and revealed the list of his desired opponents. In a list full of stellar combatants, Paul named Gervonta Davis as one of his potential rivals.

Jake Paul Makes Bizarre Offer to Baker Mayfield

This justifies the fact of Jake Paul’s desire to face Davis and not vice versa. However, Jake Paul shall come across Tommy Fury. If he wins, he can pick up a fight against Davis, which doesn’t seem relevant at this point.

Gervonta Davis has a lot of doubters

Despite the banters, Paul doesn’t seem viable to go after Davis. He is nowhere near the world title picture in boxing and is a cruiserweight contender. In response, as Davis’ highest weight category has been 140 lbs, it’s bizarre to picture Paul vs Davis, unless it is conducted in an open-weight format.

Furthermore, the lightweight division will also offer a lot of challenges to ‘Tank’. That said, it will be unfair to avoid all of it for a fight against Paul, as it will not enrich Davis’ boxing legacy.
