He hasn’t had a KO/TKO win since May of 2018 when he finished Juan Pablo Sanchez in New York. Despite looming questions about his gas tank, Herring has proven himself to be capable of going the distance effectively.
Not to mention, he enters into the contest having displayed crispy cross jabs and Bolo uppercuts in his bouts against Masayuki Ito and Roach. Furthermore, he has showcased a more conservative approach in his previous fights.
The Puerto Rican boxer in Jonathan Oquendo won the vacant WBO Latino Junior Lightweight title in his last fight. Moreover, he managed to bounce back from his disappointing outing against Lamont Roach Jr back in May of 2019. He has certainly displayed his ability to go the distance in about, however, his cardio has been brought into question.
Herring has been the more consistent fighter between the two and is wary of engaging in firefights. Herring will likely find success if he maintains his patented range-finding techniques. Additionally, it is imperative that he avoids the flurry that will come to his way mid-fight.
