The entertainment industry and the sports world have closely tied themselves together for a very long time. We have seen countless crossovers over the years where either a professional boxer in a movie or an artist was collaborating with the fighter for an epic pop. Two individuals who have crossed this path more than others are Jamie Foxx and Floyd Mayweather.

Mayweather has ventured into the entertainment industry and is known for appearing in movies like “More than Famous,” “Think Like a Man Too,” and a few more. However, during the promotion of his upcoming movie ‘Back In Action,’ Jamie Foxx revealed that there is a movie where he worked with Mayweather that most of us have never seen. The 57-year-old artist reminisced about the time he got the chance to knock Money Mayweather out.

Only time Floyd Mayweather got knocked out

For the promotion of their upcoming Netflix movie, Foxx and Cameron Diaz looked back at their careers. When asked, “Most Famous Person You Punched For a Film?”, Foxx dropped the name “Floyd Mayweather” without missing a beat. The answer even took Diaz by surprise, who was not able to hide her disbelief.

The Terrell native then began to recall the story. “Yeah. I got a chance to knock out Floyd Mayweather. In my movie that’ll probably never come out. It was called “All-Star Weekend,” claimed Foxx while dropping the bombshell on the audience that they may never witness the movie.

He further indicated how nervous he was while punching ‘Money’ and how the boxer calmed him down hilariously. “I’m doing this thing and then I have to literally clock him and it’s the only time you ever see Floyd Mayweather get hit. ‘(imitating Floyd)Yeah, J Foxx. It’s okay. J Foxx, it’s not real. If it was real, come on’,” revealed Foxx as both actors burst into laughter.

Fans who have been following Foxx and Mayweather for a long time know that the duo share a close relationship. The pair has been spotted together several times and whenever they come together, magic happens.

An unlikely friendship

Jamie Foxx is a huge boxing fan, and it is visible in his role choices as well. In “The Great White Hype” he played the role of a character involved in the boxing promotion scene. Furthermore, he was also cast to portray legendary boxer Mike Tyson in a biographical project. However, that project might be shelved because of Foxx’s declining health.

With his deep-rooted connection to boxing and Mayweather’s involvement in several ventures, the pair have become unlikely friends. The duo was first publicly spotted together in July 2022, when Foxx’s impeccable and hilarious impersonation of Floyd Mayweather left the boxer in splits.

Furthermore, ‘Pretty Boy’ also invited the ‘TASM 2’ actor on his 46th birthday at Restaurant Ours in London. Foxx once again stole the show with his dance moves and the pair shared a heartfelt time together.

With Jamie Foxx’s latest confession, fans would love to see that movie released. After all, it will feature Floyd Mayweather getting knocked down, something they were never able to see during his professional boxing career.
