28-0 as a professional, Jaron Ennis looks favorable to compete in a world title bout. However, the current welterweight scenario has yet to provide him with that shot. As none of the existing champions has shown any interest in facing ‘Boots’, it can force the 24-year-old to continue proving his worth in non-title matchups.

Well, Ennis wanted to face former world champion Keith Thurman, whose only professional loss came against Manny Pacquiao back in 2019. But Thurman denied knowing anything about Ennis and dismissed the possibilities. Now, Jaron Ennis has reacted to Thurman’s behavior, pinpointing his supremacy over everyone in the welterweight division.

In a chat with Brian Custer, Ennis said, “We wanted to fight Keith Thurman and I think YouTube, he was like he don’t know who I am. But I will take that as a compliment because he don’t want to know me. They all know I am dangerous. That’s the real reason why I’m getting skipped around. This weight division, everybody in the weight division, know I am dangerous one in the weight division.”

Ennis is a threat to everyone in the division. The Philadelphia native has appeared 28 times in 5 years, which means he has had more than 5 fights every year. Furthermore, Jaron Ennis has secured 26 stoppages in his 28 wins. Thus, he has the record to demand a fight against the champions.

That being said, it remains to be seen when ‘Boots’ will ascend to the title fights.

Will Jaron Ennis fare well against the champions?

WBO titlist Terence Crawford will soon share the ring against former champion Shawn Porter. Thus, Ennis is not going near the WBO ride anytime soon. WBC-IBF champion Errol Spence Jr. is still recovering from his retinal injury and may return in early or mid-2022.

Meanwhile, WBA titlist Yordenis Ugas and WBA (super) champion Jamal James are also not aligned to face ‘Boots’.

Therefore, Jaron Ennis is still a struggler in the 147 lbs title ride. ‘Boots’ needs an opportunity to make it to the big scene. As so many big names are avoiding him, it clearly validates Ennis’ surge in the ride.

Based on his record, he can fare well. However, it is too early to say anything about how ‘Boots’ would fare against the elite.
