In a couple of hours from now, welterweight boxing contenders Jaron “Boots” Ennis and Juan Carlos Abreu will collide in a 10-round affair.

The undefeated Jaron Ennis (25-0, 23 KOs) has shown his ability time and time again, finishing 23 out of his 25 opponents. He will look to make a statement once again in the ring this time.

Juan Carlos Abreu (23-5-1-1, 21 KOs), although has losses on his record, is as tough as they come. An upset against “Boots” could very well place him at the top of welterweight rankings.

Jaron Ennis vs Juan Carlos: Prediction

Going into this bout, Ennis will most likely look to do what he has done to 23 of his other opponents. Using his technical skills and impregnable defense, his game-plan would be to tire the opponent out and knock him out in the later rounds.

Being calculated, but a very exciting fighter, fans always expect Ennis to deliver a knockout whenever he is in the ring.

Now, despite having five professional losses on his resume, Abreu has a solid chin and has never been stopped in any of his fights. Although not as technical as his opponent, Carlos also can knock his opponents out.

Abreu, however, missed weight for this bout by 3 pounds. According to him, “Boots” does not possess a threat to him. But missing weight will definitely affect him mentally.

The fight will most probably begin with Abreu trying to get inside and slug it out with the opponent in his usual brawler style. Ennis will look to play it safe and use his defensive tactics to make Abreu miss or hit his guard in the early rounds. As the fight progress, Ennis will look to take over.

Now, Ennis will use his relentless attack to get Abreu out of there, while the latter will try to hold on, relying on his toughness and heart. However, the bout could go the other way if Abreu finds success in catching Ennis early with some solid shots. Whatever the case, the fight most likely will not be going the distance.
