Devin Haney ranks among the most promising boxers from all the young guns in the sport. He still has a vast career lying ahead of him, but the ‘Dream’ has shown early signs of success already. Haney is a true disciple of ‘Pretty Boy’ Floyd Mayweather and wishes to have an exemplary career like him. In fact, he’s trained alongside Mayweather quite often.

But this let the WBC middleweight champion, Jermall Charlo, take a witty dig at Haney. In a video shared by FightHype, Charlo painted shots at his friend wherein the duo shared a laugh.

Charlo said, “I remember you being in entourage like getting Floyd’s towels and putting his gloves out.”

Haney rolled out a fiery response, saying, “Get the f**k out of here. You got me f**k up. I ain’t never grabbed his towel in my life.”

The ‘Dream’ has expressed his love for the undefeated boxing stalwart several times. Mayweather inspired him to take up the sport, and Haney never fails to admit to the same. But, he didn’t sponsor Charlo’s notions of him carrying Mayweather’s towel and boxing gloves in the gym.

Can Devin Haney become the next Floyd Mayweather?

With his unparalleled prowess, Haney established himself as the WBC champion at the 135-pound weight class. He exhibits an approach akin to Floyd Mayweather. But, while the latter was more of a defensive fighter, Haney is an offensive pugilist.

With his daunting power, the Californian has crushed 15 opponents via T/KO. He walks down his fellow combatants right from the first gong and continues his momentum until the last second.

Haney won the WBC title in 2019 and has one successful defense under his belt. The ‘Dream’ is going super strong with his skills and is looking to become the undisputed champion at lightweight.

Citing what he brings to the table, Haney might enjoy a captivating run in boxing like his idol Floyd Mayweather. With success, the banter and trolls will come naturally and it’s nice to see that ‘Dream’ is taking it in his stride.
