According to sources, the dispute started when ‘The Hitman‘ shouted at Benavidez’s father, Jose Benavidez Sr.

During an interview with FightHype, he was asked about the probability of him fighting Charlo. Replying to the question, he said, ” He wants to fight, he’s saying he’s not going up to 68, but he keeps calling out Canelo. Canelo said he’s not going down to 160.”

According to Benavidez Charlo is ducking Benavidez because on one the side, he talks about facing Canelo Alvarez who is currently weighing higher and won’t come down to 160.
