Although Alvarez hasn’t confirmed his next appearance, he seems to be in talks to meet WBC middleweight champion Jermall Charlo. This will result in David Benavidez having to cool his heels indefinitely. However, ‘El Bandera Roja’ is interested in seeing how Charlo performs against Canelo.

“A fight with Charlo is going to be a tougher fight than Canelo has had in a while. But also I won’t be surprised if Canelo knocks Charlo out. But still, like I said, I am in a good position. I want to fight with both those guys.”

31-year-old Jermall Charlo is still unbeaten with a professional record of 32-0 (22 knockouts). He has held the WBC 160 lbs belt since June 2019 and has already amassed three successful title defenses. No doubt, ‘Hitman’ is one of the best middleweight elites of the time.

Canelo Alvarez is looking for greatness!

Alvarez could have moved up to 175 lbs or 200 lbs, with a dream to become undisputed at light heavyweight or become a five-weight champion by donning the cruiserweight gold. However, it seems as though he wants to clean out the middleweight and super middleweight divisions.

Starting from Jermall Charlo to David Benavidez, a potential trilogy against Gennady Golovkin is also lurking on Canelo’s combat radar.
