WBC middleweight champion Jermall Charlo recently offered his two cents on how Deontay Wilder justified his drubbing at the hands of Tyson Fury. The American has rubbished his compatriot’s claim and has given a very blunt account of the fight.
Fury beat Wilder back in February 2020 by knocking out the seemingly invincible heavyweight. Wilder then went into months of silence until November when he posted a bizarre video accusing Fury of cheating in the fight.

The combat sports community ridiculed the video from Wilder, and several fighters and trainers have given their view on the matter. Now, Charlo has given his take on the matter.
Speaking to BoxingSweetScience2.0, Charlo addressed whether Fury cheated. He said, “Nah, Tyson Fury punched the sh*t outta Deontay Wilder. He beat his as*.”
This showed that the undefeated champion felt his compatriot made excuses for his loss.

Jermall Charlo says Deontay Wilder will beat Tyson Fury in the trilogy
Another accusation from Wilder to Fury was him avoiding a re-match. ‘The Bronze Bomber’ claimed Fury violated the contract, which featured a re-match clause, while the Englishman’s camp claimed the duration had expired.
Speaking about the potential trilogy fight, Charlo said, “Wilder! You put him in a match with the same dude he’s gonna beat the sh*t outta him. The dude’s strong as hell!”
This showed that despite his criticism of Wilder for his excuses, he still felt he has enough to avenge his defeat.

With Fury now fighting Joshua, reports suggest Wilder is close to a bout against former heavyweight champion Charles Martin.
This would give him the perfect opportunity to get back on track and earn a shot at the title again. However, it all depends on who wins their next fights.
