On this Saturday night’s main event, we have the WBC light-middleweight champion Jermell Charlo facing off against the WBA (Super) and IBF light-middleweight champion, Jeison Rosario. It will be a 12-round title unification bout.

Jermell Charlo (33-1, 17 KOs) is a two-time light middleweight champion. He is coming off a victory over Tony Harrison, where he won his title back, avenging the only loss of his career. His opponent, Jeison Rosario (20-1, 14 KOs), is coming fresh off a win over Julian Williams via fifth-round TKO, where he won his newly acquired titles. This was the first major title victory of his pro career.

Both Rosario and Charlo are coming off the biggest wins of their careers, especially Rosario, who was a 3-1 underdog going into his last fight. The fighters will be high on confidence, riding a wave of momentum in this fight.

Rosario recently stated that he is hoping the bout to be an all-out war. He will go in with the same approach and will be ready to go all 12 rounds with Charlo if the latter makes him do so.

How is the fight between Jermell Charlo and Jeison Rosario likely to play out?

Charlo is one of the best light-middleweights and will be the favorite to win the fight. He has a wide range of skill sets, being able to knock his opponents’ head off or beat them through the entire 12 rounds. If Rosario tries to rush in early to get in a slugfest with Charlo, it could end up being a short night for him.

Rosario should fight with all he’s got, but must also be careful and not play into Charlo’s game. The “Iron Man” definitely has the longer reach and the faster hand speed and will look to capitalize on that.

Although Rosario can cause an upset, which was seen in his last venture, it seems highly unlikely in this case. He can definitely box all 12 rounds with Charlo, but there’s a very slim chance of him winning a decision. Going for a knockout might be his only way to victory, but it is risky.
