Jessica McCaskill Plans to Make Cecilia Braekhus Eat Her Words

Roman Gonzalez will headline the main event on Saturday night alongside Juan Estrada. But, the undercard comprises an enigmatic matchup that is as exciting as the main event. The undisputed women’s welterweight queen, Jessica McCaskill, will contend with the former champion, Cecilia Braekhus. The two will rematch each other from their first fight in August 2020.

Ahead of this clash, both the boxers indulged in a pre-fight media interaction alongside Matchroom supremo, Eddie Hearn.

Hearn asked McCaskill whether this is the last fight of Braekhus’s prolonged career.

To which she responded, “Ya, I mean Cecilia brought it up. The last fight those aren’t my words, those are hers and I’m just going to make her eat them.”

‘CasKilla’ dethroned the veteran Braekhus in her last fight. The duo traded enough punches, but ‘First Lady’ didn’t dig enough to earn a finish. As a result, the fight went to judges, and they scored 95, 97, and 97 in favor of McCaskill.

Ever since then, the 39-year-old has asked for a rematch and she finally got one. ‘First Lady’ is hungry to settle scores with McCaskill, reclaim her titles, and avenge her first defeat. That said, the feud between the two has caught fire and this time, it’ll be more than belts for the two boxers.
