The 140 lbs title unification battle saw Josh Taylor leave with all four belts, as he handed Jose Ramirez his maiden defeat. Although Taylor had to work his way through a stern test from Ramirez, the Scot allured everyone with his top-notch performance.
Going against a fellow unbeaten champion, Josh Taylor unveiled his A-game and dominated Ramirez several times in the fight. While both men had landed significant shots, Taylor claimed two early knockdowns in the bout.
Meanwhile, Jose Ramirez, who showcased his championship heart, did not falter before the final bell. Nevertheless, his grit wasn’t enough to help him retain his belts as he went down via a 114-112 decision.

However, he didn’t rush for the kill. Hence, Taylor kept dictating the pace. In round six, Josh Taylor countered Ramirez’s shot with a thunderous left hook and fed his rival to the canvas.

But Ramirez returned stronger from it and continued the showdown. As the fight went deeper, ‘The Tartan Tornado’ looked more comfortable. Whilst in a lock, he created a gap and landed an uppercut, scoring another knockdown.

These sequences helped Taylor appear dominant inside the ring. Furthermore, much to his credit, he didn’t relent and allow ‘Jaguar’ to make a roaring comeback.
Given that it was a full-length bout, a rematch could be on the cards. So, it’s safe to state that Taylor vs Ramirez was an absolute thriller for the fans. Moreover, Taylor will now have his respective defenses for the WBC, WBA, IBF, and IBO belts.
