Josh Taylor etched himself into the history books as he became the first Brit to hold all four belts in the four-belt era. The newly crowned undisputed champion did so without getting much attention back in his home country. And now, ‘The Tartan Tornado’ has hit back at the broadcasters.

Taylor took on Jose Ramirez in what was an enthralling contest for fans. Ultimately, the Scot won after dropping ‘The Jaguar’ twice en route to a UD. Surprisingly, no networks picked up the undisputed bout in the UK.

The 18-0 boxer has now lashed out at them. He spoke to talkSPORT and said, “Yeah, I’m not going to lie I was a little bit surprised and kinda felt let down, you know. I think it is one of the best Scottish sporting achievements in a long, long time… I kinda felt like no one cared and no one really gave a toss about it, you know. So it kinda cheesed me off a little bit.”

The Scotsman then lashed out at SkySports for showing the Floyd Mayweather vs. Logan Paul exhibition on PPV. “They’re talking at bloody Logan Paul and a nearly 50-year-old Floyd Mayweather who, who just looks like an old man, you know. And some YouTube guy. Sky are picking that up.”

Is Josh Taylor right in lashing out at SkySports?

The comments from ‘The Tartan Tornado’ made no secret of his frustration with SkySports. He showed he felt let down and underappreciated in his own home country.

Taylor’s comments came because SkySports announced they would broadcast Floyd Mayweather vs. Logan Paul exhibition bout as a PPV event for fans in the UK. The idea of a YouTuber facing Mayweather has attracted heaps of criticism.

Thus, it is understandable that the Scot is raging at the networks for not picking up the broadcast for his undisputed fight. Moreover, UK fans would not only have witnessed history, but they would have also gotten their value for money.
