Ahead of the fight, Taylor was in a chat with Top Rank Boxing. Here, he revealed why he stays away from his family and friends while preparing for his professional boxing bouts.

He said, “I’m doing it for a cause and it gives me motivation, more drive, and more determination. Because look what’s at stake, your legacy, and cementing your name in the history books so, that keeps you going.

In his last boxing outing, Taylor locked horns with Apinan Kongsong. Being a favorite in this fight, Taylor smothered Kongsong in just the first round of the clash to retain his undefeated stint and titles.

This was probably ‘The Tartan Tornado’s biggest career win, setting him up for an undisputed encounter with Jose Ramirez.

Over the past few months, Taylor has put himself in some hefty workouts. More than anyone else, he wants to enter a sheer 12-round with Ramirez, and for that, he’s looking to give his best shot in training and grilling regimes.
