Josh Warrington Channels His Inner Conor McGregor With a ‘Red-Panty Night’ Reference

Former IBF featherweight champion, Josh Warrington, has hit out at rival Kid Galahad with his latest comments. The undefeated Yorkshireman went full Conor McGregor and referenced one of the famous quotes from the UFC star.

Galahad and Warrington have shared a fierce rivalry over the years. ‘The Leeds Warrior’ beat Galahad in 2019; however, the war of words between the pair did not stop there. Now, after vacating his IBF title, Warrington has hit back at Galahad.

Speaking of his compatriot to the Sun, Warrington said, “I don’t want to look back on my record and see three boring fights with Kid Galahad.” 

This was in response to Galahad’s comments about Warrington vacating the title to duck him. However, the Yorkshireman then said he would see champions on his resume.

He then channeled his inner McGregor and said, “I don’t want to sound like a d****, or copy Conor McGregor, but when Galahad fights me it’s his red-panty night, he only gets big paydays when he fights me.” T

hus, this comment showed Warrington believes Galahad wants the fight just for the pay-day.

The history between Kid Galahad and Josh Warrington

Warrington defended his IBF title against Galahad in 2019 in a controversial affair. Both fighters engaged in a war of words and in the end, the Yorkshireman won a close split decision. Since then, he had one more successful defense and then vacated.

‘The Leeds Warrior’ explained why he vacated the belt. He wants to chase the prospect of becoming an undisputed champion. However, Galahad did not agree with this and lashed out at the former champion. He even accused Warrington of ducking him since he was mandatory for the IBF belt.

Therefore, it is clear that the two fighters share a genuine bad-blood between them. However, given that ‘The Leeds Warrior’ will face Mauricio Lara next and then aim for the other champions, they may never get to meet again.
