Boxing champion Floyd Mayweather is often spotted spending time with Hollywood biggies. A familiar face at several parties, he is close friends with a number of rappers too. Notably, American rapper Curtis James Jackson III, better known by his stage name, 50 Cent, and the boxer forged a close friendship once.

However, a fight between the two led to their separation years ago. In fact, taking a dig at 50 cent once, Mayweather urged other rappers to support him on Twitter.

Floyd Mayweather and 50 Cent have been at crossroads ever since their friendship came to an end. The two never leave a chance to mock each other and often throw insulting jabs at one another online.

Back in 2012, the boxer saw 50 Cent’s declining record sales as an opportunity to mock his old friend. Mayweather took to Twitter and shared a graph of the rappers’ record sales. ‘Money’ captioned the post with, “Men lie.. women lie numbers don’t lie. Wayne, Drake, Rick Ross, Kanye please help this boy.”

The two were inseparable at one time, but something went off between the two and fractured their friendship. Let’s take a look at what happened between them. 

The Floyd Mayweather and 50 Cent beef 

The boxer and rapper were both at the height of their careers back in the day and got along pretty well. They frequently appeared together at parties and NBA games. Their friendship allegedly ended because of financial issues. But when the rapper confronted Mayweather on Instagram, it became public.

Money was given the task by 50 Cent to read a whole page of the ‘Harry Potter’ book without making a single mistake. 50 Cent promised to provide $750,000 to a charity if the boxer could accomplish the challenge.

Following that, 50 Cent continued his criticism a few days later by bringing up Jimmy Kimmel’s agreement to have Mayweather read something other than the Harry Potter book on his talk show. The pound-for-pound king tweeted back and attached two $72 million cheques as payment.

However, the Grammy Award-winning rapper stated recently that the two are on good terms now, and he said “it was cool” to meet his friend again.
