Terence Crawford will take on Kell Brook on a PPV event on ESPN+ and will look to retain his WBO welterweight belt. However, former IBO and WBA super-middleweight champion Chris Eubank Jr. is not sold on this fight.

He did not hold back as he gave his honest views on the Terence Crawford vs Kell Brook fight.

Speaking to iFL TV on YouTube, the ‘Next Gen’ was asked what he thought about the fight. He was extremely blunt as he said, “Kell Brook against Crawford is not a fight is it, really? I mean, Crawford is one of the pound-for-pound top fighters in the world right now. And Kell Brook is not. So in my opinion it’s not going to be… it’s not a fight.”

The charismatic fighter did not leave it at that. He added, “I think it’s Crawford’s warmup, you know. It’s his dusting off the cobwebs before he goes and fights some of those young guns that are coming up.”

Chris Eubank Jr. shed light on who he believed Crawford was preparing for. He said, “That’s the fight that everyone wants to see, Spence against Crawford. You know, once they get past their opponents, I can see that fight happening at some point early next year. Which would be an awesome fight to watch. So yeah, I think that’s his warmup fight before the big one”.

Is Chris Eubank Jr. right in saying Terence Crawford is preparing for a big fight?

There may be some truth to these claims made by the Englishman as Crawford last fought in December 2019. Since then, there have been several rumors of a potential fight against Errol Spence Jr. If ‘Bud’ had to get into the ring with Spence Jr, it would have been a tough ask to do so after being out for a year.

Brook, however, is in the twilight of his career. Even though he comes into this fight with three wins on the trot, he is still not on the same level as Crawford. This will explain why Chris Eubank Jr. thinks this is merely a warmup and not an actual fight. What is your take on these comments?
