WBA lightweight champion Gervonta Davis appears to have revealed his post-Lamont Roach Jr. plans. But unfortunately for WBO lightweight number-one contender Keyshawn Davis, it seems he’s not in the running as one of Davis’ potential opponents. ‘Tank’ is slated to go toe-to-toe against WBA super featherweight champion Roach on March 1st in Brooklyn.

Meanwhile, Keyshawn Davis has his WBO lightweight title shot lined up on February 14th at Madison Square Garden Theater in New York against the current champion Denys Berinchyk. The Norfolk, Virginia native, much like others, has been asking for a duel with ‘Tank’ for some time, but nothing of note has emerged from all the callouts.

In the meantime, former Showtime Sports President Stephen Espinoza, who is currently overseeing events for Amazon Prime Video and PBC (Davis’ promotion), has revealed that Gervonta Davis is only looking for big fights, which doesn’t include rising stars like Keyshawn Davis(12-0). Speaking to iFL TV recently, Espinoza revealed, “He doesn’t want to do anything that’s less than a top tier…Maybe it’s Shakur, maybe it’s Ryan Garcia rematch.”

This comes after ‘Tank’ revealed his plans to retire from the sport after 2025, leaving many to wonder who he will fight before exiting the sport. Shakur Stevenson was one of the names tossed around among fans, while a potential fight against lightweight legend Vasyl Lomachenko had previously fallen apart.

While Keyshawn Davis may not be on Gervonta Davis’ radar, it seems ‘The Businessman’ has another fighter in mind that he’s eager to step into the ring with.

Ignored by Gervonta Davis, Keyshawn Davis wants to fight…

Keyshawn Davis is already looking ahead to future challenges, with his eyes set on a potential showdown against IBF lightweight champion Vasyl Lomachenko. As Keyshawn Davis prepares for his first world title shot against WBO champion Denys Berinchyk, he’s also keeping a close watch on Lomachenko’s career.

“I would love to fight Lomachenko,” Davis shared with Fight Hype. “He’s a great fighter, legendary fighter.” Despite Lomachenko’s stunning performance against George Kambosos Jr., Davis is confident in his ability to defeat the Ukrainian. “I feel like me and Lomachenko fight stylistically would be crazy. We got that mentality where it’s like, we’re not losing no matter what,” he added.

It appears even though Gervonta Davis doesn’t see Keyshawn Davis as an opponent for a big fight, ‘The Businessman’ hasn’t given up hope of fighting a lightweight legend. Will their paths ever cross? It’s difficult to say, but if Keyshawn Davis can stun everyone with his performance anything is possible. Who do you think would win a fight?
