“If he stops, there he dies.” In such a strong statement, Edwin De Los Santos dropped a clear warning for his rival Keyshawn Davis earlier this month on the Broadway Joel podcast. The duo will end their long-ongoing feud when they fight on June 7 in the Businessman’s hometown of Norfolk, Virginia, for his WBO lightweight title. Until now, it has been nothing but an exchange of threats and demeaning of each other’s skills between the two.

Just two days ago, the Dominican southpaw was talking to Fight Hype in a translated interview, when he admitted, If I connect I don’t think the fight will continue because it’ll end right there.” That was him making his prophecy loud and clear—if he lands a punch, it is going to knock the 26-year-old out without any doubt. But then, the boxer who reads his opponents as if they’re a bedtime story hasn’t held back either. Coming off two knockout victories, the most recent one against Denys Berinchyk in February, Davis recently dropped a one-liner to intimidate his opponent weeks away from their clash.

Training just got cooler—and deadlier

Hours ago, Top Rank, who promotes Davis, dropped an alert on his behalf. “This the sharpest I’ve felt ever…I’m about to pun on an unbelievable performance for ya’ll Norfolk. ⭐️🤍”  Sticking beside in the thread was a training clip of the undefeated 13-0 boxer. “We’re in for a legendary night 🌟,” the caption read, echoing the champ’s press-conference assertions about how De Los Santos is “in for a ride.”

Punching on his double-end bag, you could see the knockout artist really feeling like a beast when he was dripping out to “Let It All Work Out” by Lil Wayne, which thumped loudly in the background. “Let’s get it! June 7…I’mma whoop his [Edwin De Los Santos’s] a–.”

The entire workout video was later posted on Keyshawn Davis’s YouTube channel for those who would like to have a look at the boxer’s pumped-up body and high energy. “I’m cut like dope. You feel me? Let’s go…We back in Norfolk with it man. The hotel wait for DB3 man,” Davis screamed into the camera, showing off his abs and bicep cuts. For those who don’t know, DB3 is Keyshawn Davis’s brand, which he shares with his two brothers, Keon and Kelvin.

So, it looks like they’re going to be there too, supporting the champ from the corner. “We going to the top, to the stratosphere. To the stars where I belong. De Los Santos keep talking. Keep doing interviews,” Davis ended the video on that note. He has been vocal about it on his X handle as well. Posting a string of tweets, Davis really feels like he’s going to knock Santos out on fight night.

What’s your perspective on:

Can Keyshawn Davis' confidence and training edge out De Los Santos' raw power in the ring?

Keyshawn Davis unleashes a spree of psychological games

The fight is yet to come, and Davis is one of those boxers who likes to get territorial and try to get an upper hand by playing mind games. But it’s only fair, considering that the 25-year-old has been doing the same. Calling the 16-2 boxer out for his statements in recent interviews, Davis recently posted on X saying, “Edwin doing a lot of talking, you not making sense & you p–sing me off. Keep it it up.” From his perspective, the more Santos talks and threatens him, the angrier he’ll get.

The result? A bash of a fight inside the ring. Possibly even a knockout, who knows? On May 18 itself, he’d posted Only if yall can see me in camp. #June7th is about to be legendary again.😮‍💨⭐️” Then came another. I’m taking over the sport of boxing whether yall wanna believe it or not. Sit back & watch me live up to it.⭐️ #JUNE7TH @trboxing @Turki_alalshikh

Also, now that he’s moving forth with his mentor Floyd Mayweather’s advice to have “no cameras, no media, just work,” he’s even more motivated to take on that victory. Moving ahead, he can then challenge his arch-nemesis, Gervonta Davis. In case De Los Santos doesn’t derail his title unification plans. What do you think? Will the Santo Domingo native be able to grab the blue and golden belt? Or will Keyshawn Davis retain it to set himself on the path of unifying the division next?
