Yesterday was a special day for the most feared champion in the boxing world. Yes, we are talking about the unified light heavyweight champion Artur Beterbiev, who currently holds IBF, WBC, and WBO titles in the division. Born on 21 January 1985 in Russia, the ‘man of steel’ celebrated his 38th birthday.

The boxing world actively participated in sending wishes to the champion. Meanwhile, UFC star Khamzat Chimaev took to Instagram and penned down his heartiest birthday wish. Nurturing his relationship with the champion, the welterweight prospect wrote, “Happy Birthday my brother.”

Beterbiev’s birthday caught attention on Twitter too.

A fan wrote, “38 and in his prime.”

For your information, Beterbiev is coming out of an amazing second-round knockout win over former WBO light heavyweight champion Joe Smith Jr at the Hulu Theater in New York City.

Now, his eyes are set on defending his title against mandatory challenger Anthony Yarde on 29 October 2022. The fight is set to take place at the O2 Arena in London.

Hopefully, if Beterbiev comes up with the same rhythm, he might score another knockout. Apart from all these matchups, Beterbiev’s real test would be witnessed when he would face the WBA light heavyweight champion Dmitry Bivol. Bivol is expected to take on Canelo Alvarez for the second time in 2023.

Another page wrote, “Today Artur Beterbiev turns 38 next week today Artur Beterbiev will be turning those belts over to Anthony Yarde.”

Following Beterbiev’s knockout win over Smith Jr, Rogan talked about him in his podcast with guest Brian Redman. While highlighting facts about the Canadian-Russian fighter, Rogan was left stunned.

According to him, Beterbiev is an unearthly beast. In general, athletes hit their prime in their 30s, but the man is knocking the hell out of young fighters at the age of 37.

“This guy, Artur Beterbiev (37). Beterbiev just knocked out Joe Smith Jr. for the light heavyweight title. This guy is a f###ing animal. He’s 18-0, with 18 knockouts. He’s the only world champion that’s in boxing today, that has a 100% knockout ratio for every fight he’s ever been in. This guy is f###ing terrifying. Terrifying,” Rogan said.
