WBA light heavyweight champion Joshua Buatsi has defended his title successfully against Marko Calic with a TKO stoppage in the seventh round of their 12round battle.

While Calic pushed him to the edge on certain occasions, Joshua Buatsi made sure that he didn’t leave any doubts about his victory inside the ring. Putting on a one-sided dominance, the champion thoroughly outpointed his opponent. Although Marko Calic had his minor moments in the fight, it was clearly not enough to bag the world title, especially when he was squaring off against someone like Buatsi.

Thus, Calic’s undefeated run in professional boxing has come to a halt as he failed to deliver what he promised. Before the fight, Calic vowed to expose Buatsi’s weakness inside the ring. However, he couldn’t do the same tonight. Falling prey to the champion’s game plan, Calic couldn’t offer much in response.
