YouTube boxing sensation Jake Paul is less than a month away from his big fight against retired heavyweight champion Mike Tyson. In the meantime, KSI’s manager Mams Taylor has shared vital insights into how a fight between the duo can finally become a reality. More importantly, Taylor raised some red flags about Paul’s health if he chooses to remain in the heavyweight division.
Speaking to Fred Beck on YouTube, Mams Taylor spilled the tea on why the long-anticipated Paul vs. KSI fight has been such a headache to arrange. He suggested that Paul wants to make the fight only if he has the edge in the fight through weight, adding, “So you’ve got to do it where it’s as fair as possible…”
Taylor proposed “take the edge away from both guys” through the “art of compromise.” Elaborating on his point, KSI’s manager explained that both parties should reach a deal where neither is completely happy—but they can live with it. Taylor pointed out that the first obstacle in securing the deal is Paul’s current weight, where he will fight Mike Tyson.

“Jake still has too much of an advantage at [230]… Why would KSI fight at a pretty big disadvantage? He shouldn’t,” Taylor said. He felt the simple solution to this issue would be for the duo to fight at a weight neither of them wants, adding, “Then, I think, we’re onto something.”
Regardless of the fight, however, Taylor expressed concern for Paul’s health with his current weight. “Listen, Jake, he has no business being 230. I’m sure it’s not healthy for him. He’s not meant to be 230,” Taylor told Fred Beck. The British boxing promoter thinks if they fight at what is basically a catchweight, neither of them will have an excuse when one of them loses the fight.
That said, Mams Taylor also provided insights about a potential rematch between KSI and Tommy Fury—former WBC heavyweight champion Tyson Fury’s brother.

If not Jake Paul, will KSI fight Tommy Fury next?
KSI fans would remember the heart-breaking night when the YouTube star and Prime Hydration owner lost his fight to Tommy Fury last year. Despite KSI’s best efforts, Fury won the fight via a unanimous decision, which many felt was a daylight robbery. Not to mention, Judge Rafael Ramos’ score was incorrectly announced.

So, while appearing in an interview with The Sun, Taylor also shed light on a possible rematch between the duo in the near future. “As far as KSI and Tommy, I think when the time is right, that rematch definitely should happen,” Taylor said. As 2024 draws to a close, the reporter inquired whether the rematch could take place in a year or so. To this, Taylor said, “I think so. I think it’s very possible. Yeah.”
