Boxing fans have always fantasized about a heavyweight showdown between Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua for years. If happened, it will be one of the biggest fights and the grandest British showdown to ever take place.

However, the heavyweight matchup has already met with several hurdles on its way. While Fury and Joshua have desired to face each other multiple times in the past, the contest is still far from being materialized. Anthony Joshua will defend his unified titles against Kubrat Pulev in December, and Tyson Fury is yet to accept his upcoming opponent.

That said, the pair can collide against each other after surpassing their upcoming opponents. Despite that, renowned boxing promoter Bob Arum doesn’t see the contest happening anytime soon.

The Top Rank promoter believes that Joshua will lose another fight against Pulev, curbing the talks of his unification battle against WBC champion ‘The Gypsy King.’

Bob Arum says Tyson Fury vs Anthony Joshua will never happen

Although Fury vs Joshua has the potential to break several PPV and Gate sales records, Arum still doesn’t see it happening. Billing Kubrat Pulev as a legitimate threat to Joshua, Arum said that the Bulgarian can dethrone AJ on fight night. Thus, he advised Matchroom promoter Eddie Hearn to stop dreaming about the unification battle against Fury.

Speaking with World Boxing News, Arum said, “Eddie Hearn better watch out. Kubrat Pulev is going to destroy his plan for a Joshua-Tyson Fury unification fight.”

Meanwhile, Eddie Hearn and Joshua have been confident about notching the win against Pulev. Since his loss against Andy Ruiz Jr. in 2019, Joshua has been scrutinized by several boxing pundits. Although he has regained his position by defeating Ruiz in the rematch, fight fans continue to question his chances against Pulev.

That said, the upcoming fight seems alluring for several reasons. Joshua cannot afford to lose a fight, and Pulev will bring his best game into the display. Thus, fight fans are in for proper heavyweight action by the end of this year.
