Devin Haney, the 30-0 undefeated lightweight champion, has decided to face off against Regis Prograis. Haney aims to snatch Regis’ WBC light welterweight title and become a two-division champion. What’s more, Haney previously took down Vasiliy Lomachenko to retain his four lightweight titles in May. However, in an attempt to laud his CV, Haney recently ticked off the boxing community.

Haney’s career thus far has been nothing short of glorious. Every opponent he came across had the same fate as the previous. The Las Vegas resident currently holds IBF, WBO, and WBA (Super) lightweight titles. However, not everything has been sunshine and rainbows for the lightweight champion. Recently, Haney was under fire for offering Shakur Stevenson an unfair split for a fight. That, in return, started rumors of Haney ducking the fight. A point fans did not fail to bring up after Haney’s recent post on X.

In a recent post, Haney asked fans to compare him with the greats because only boxing greats have done what he has done. He also listed the boxers he has defeated and aims to fight in the future. As fans came across the post, unsurprisingly, Haney came under fire. While some made fun of the tweet, others really dug into his fights.

Like this user who claimed Yuriorkis Gamboa and Jorge Linares were well past their prime when Haney fought them. The user also claimed Joseph Diaz is not that great of a fighter, to begin with. Furthermore, the user explained that fans don’t need to compare him with greats. He is exactly where he is supposed to be in his weight class among the pump-fakers.

Sharing similar sentiments, another user claimed his previous opponents are either old or below average. The user also claimed Haney lost the fight against Lomachenko. It’s worth noting that even though Haney won the bout via unanimous decision, the fight was labeled controversial.

Someone else explained that Haney is yet to face off against Shakur, Gervonta Davis, and a rematch against Lomachenko. The user also said it’s okay because the people around Haney are all ‘Yes-men.’

The next user expressed his amusement with Haney’s tweet. The user wrote in a mocking tone – Haney could not have written that without laughing.

In the midst of the opposers, one user, however, showed his support for Haney. The user wrote everyone who disagrees with Haney’s tweet is a fan of Tank Davis. The user further claims that Tank has not fought anyone, and if Haney was really after money, he would fight Sean O’Malley. O’Malley has been making the headlines for calling out boxers for a fight. He even called out Haney, according to a report from Inside Sport.

If these responses are any evidence, Haney is ways away from proving he is the best. So, there might be some really interesting fights in the future. However, we want to know about your thoughts on the matter. Do you agree with Haney?
