The Paul brothers, especially Jake Paul, were at the receiving end of intense backlash a few days ago. This followed comments Jake Paul made about Puerto Rican rapper and singer Bad Bunny ahead of Bunny’s Super Bowl halftime show. While Logan Paul, who attended the Super Bowl in person, simply stated he wasn’t excited about the halftime show, the younger Paul brother took things to another level.

‘El Gallo,’ who resides in Puerto Rico, called Bad Bunny a “fake American citizen” who “publicly hates America” and urged a boycott of the performance. The massive backlash the posts invited forced Jake Paul to walk back on his comments. Meanwhile, Logan Paul immediately distanced himself from his brother’s stance, stating Puerto Ricans are U.S. citizens. And now, ‘The Maverick’ is telling his side of the entire story.
“[Bad Bunny] is a good wrestler. He can f—king wrestle,” Logan admitted on the ‘Impaulsive’ podcast. “There have been talks about us wrestling. It’s been floated around. I’ve been candid about the fact that I would love to do that
“In that regard, any time I’m asked about Bad Bunny, I think that in the back of my mind. And so it’s like to set that up, and when I’m asked if I’m excited for the halftime show, saying no, it’s like, okay, now people are talking about it.”
Since Logan Paul was hoping to set up a WWE fight with Bad Bunny down the line, according to him, he leaned into the role of a heel and admitted to not wanting to see him perform at the Super Bowl. But what about his brother’s statements?

“When Jake tweeted that, everyone assumed that [we are boycotting it together],” Logan Paul clarified. “But it was very circumstantial because I didn’t work myself into a shoot. My brother worked my work into a shoot.
“I think that is my brother’s story to tell and speak when he’s ready to talk about it. I did feel it was important that I completely negate what he’s saying because I couldn’t disagree more.”
Since the ordeal, Jake Paul has remained rather under the radar. He attended his fiancée’s 2026 Winter Olympics races in Italy, where Jutta Leerdam won a gold medal in the 1000-meter race and a silver medal in the 500-meter race. Paul was also seen crying when Leerdam won her first Olympic gold medal.
Regardless, the uproar caused by Jake Paul’s posts has invited rebuke even from among those close to him.
Amanda Serrano joins Logan Paul to criticize Jake Paul
After Paul’s rant on X went viral, his brother openly criticized him. But he wasn’t alone. Alongside thousands of others, seven-weight champion Amanda Serrano also criticized her own promoter. The Puerto Rican boxer and Jake Paul’s star fighter responded swiftly.
“I am proud to be Puerto Rican, and I am proud to be an American citizen,” Serrano wrote on X. “Puerto Ricans are not ‘fake Americans.’
“I do not agree with statements that question the legitimacy or identity of Puerto Rican people, and I cannot support that characterization. It is wrong.”
She added that while she remains grateful for Jake Paul’s continued support in elevating women’s boxing, she is not okay with Paul’s assertions. Serrano signed with MVP back in 2021, which was arguably their first major signing. And since then, ‘The Real Deal’ has praised and supported both Jake Paul and MVP. Many other female athletes have since joined MVP’s stable, and some of that credit must go to Amanda Serrano’s efforts.
For now, Jake Paul appears to be taking the blame fairly, given that the comments were his. However, he has yet to fully address the controversy. Do you believe Logan’s stance is genuine or damage control?
