While Jake Paul continued his dominance in the ring, there was unfortunate news awaiting the public. Just after Paul’s short showdown, it was announced that Amanda Serrano won’t be able to fight in her much-anticipated hometown return clash against Nina Meinke. The crowd gathered at the Coliseo Jose Miguel Agrelot Arena was sad but someone else was even sadder.

Following the announcement, a visibly emotional Serrano addressed the fans, claiming she would be back. Even Jake Paul defended Serrano, highlighting how much she wanted to fight in front of her country folks. Meanwhile, during his appearance yesterday in the BS w/ Jake Paul podcast, it was revealed that ‘The Problem Child’ had to refund nearly $1.5 million to the people. However, that’s not the thing which made him sad!

Speaking to Jake, his brother, Logan Paul, brought up the situation, claiming Nakisa Bidarian informed him that they had to refund nearly $1.5 million for the cancellation of Serrano’s fight. Responding to the incident, Paul said, “We have to, right? And this whole thing is not about the money, like, this event like… I’m donating my whole purse and stuff. So, it’s just like [the] right thing to do.”

While such a debacle would make any promoter crestfallen, Paul was distraught for a whole different reason. When asked about what had happened with Serrano’s eyes, Paul detailed the whole story. Serrano had dyed her hair prior to the fight and the lead present in the dye made its way into Serrano’s eye, causing the whole situation.

“There was like some sort of chemical I think dying her hair…all the chemicals that go into that, like lead. She started running the next day, the chemical was still in [her] hair and it started dripping down all over her body, and specifically into her left eye…it instantly started burning,” Paul revealed.

He even claimed that Serrano wanted to fight despite the unfortunate incident. However, “the doctor put her through eye tests and said that her vision was delayed and blurry and that she couldn’t fight,” said Paul. Moreover, Paul claimed, “It’s not worth potentially going blind for a boxing match.”

Even though Paul played his part by putting on a fantastic performance against Ryan Bourland, defeating Bourland in the very first round, the tragic news about Serrano’s eye acted as a dampener. However, as Serrano had suggested that she would come back, it should serve as a beacon of motivation for both the promoter and Amanda Serrano, herself.
