Campbell gave his take on that idea.

He spoke to Garcia on the American’s new podcast, ‘Fierce Talk Podcast with Ryan Garcia’, and said, “If our fight was an MMA fight, then you would have gone down. I would have ground and pounded you, if it was MMA…”

Thus, with this comment, Campbell hinted that he would have gotten the stoppage.

He reacted by saying, “I don’t want that smoke on, in the streets with Luke.”

This comment from Garcia is a testament to Campbell’s power, as Garcia rarely admits he would get beaten.

Why couldn’t Luke Campbell knockout Ryan Garcia?

The talk of a ground-and-pound came up since Campbell had knocked down the American in their fight. This was the first time Garcia was down in his career. However, he recovered and fought his way back in.

‘KingRy’ later revealed what went through his mind when he was down. The young fighter showed his calm and composure to get the win. However, if it was an MMA fight, he would not have got the time to recover from that knockdown.

Since it was a boxing match, Garcia got the 10-second count and could get his act together. Campbell never pressed for the knockout because he was the smaller man on the night and had to keep his distance from ‘KingRy’s’ powerful punches. Therefore, he ended up losing the fight.

What do you make of Luke Campbell’s comments? Who would you back in an MMA fight between the two?
