WBA Continental welterweight titleholder, Conor Benn, has been in the midst of controversy for a considerable amount of time. ‘The Destroyer’ was scheduled to face Chris Eubank Jr. in 2022. But, the fight had to be canceled after the British Boxing Board of Control (BBBofC) found out that Benn tested positive for Clomifene. He was recently cleared of charges by the WBC, with the positive test attributed to the overconsumption of eggs. Benn recently had a heartfelt conversation with broadcaster, Piers Morgan. However, it looks like a few people, including Morgan himself, had a pressing doubt after the interview.

Benn was recently a guest on Piers Morgan Uncensored. And opened up about the allegations raised against him. He also delved into the potential future of his career. Meanwhile, the sports feature writer for Daily Mail, Raith Al-Samarrai, found an intriguing discrepancy in Benn’s statements.

Notably, Benn had mentioned that he is yet to submit the clearance dossier to UK Boxing authorities. He also blamed the same on being held back by his ‘pride’. Morgan, on the other hand, nodded in agreement. And mentioned that Benn’s statement does not make sense.

Conor Benn felt that he wouldn’t make it

Benn was undoubtedly devastated by the turn of events after testing positive in the drug test. He even opened up about the same in his interview with Morgan. Talking about the same, Benn said, “It’s hurt me. I didn’t think I was going to make it through this period. I didn’t think I was going to make it through.”
