Manny Pacquiao is one of the richest athletes alive. His career has spanned over two decades and has generated some of the highest Pay Per View buys ever seen. He has always brought in huge viewership to each of his fights.

Furthermore, Pacquiao is considered one of the greatest professional boxers of all time. His rags to riches story has inspired a lot of young boxers and Filipino kids alike. He is the most recognized and most popular athlete the Philippines has ever seen.

Today we take a look at the highest PPV buys in Pacquiao’s career, and how much revenue they have generated. His 24 pay-per-view bouts have generated 20 million buys and around $1.25 billion in revenue.

Boxing Tonight: What Time is Manny Pacquiao Fighting?

1. Manny Pacquiao Vs Floyd Mayweather Jr. 

They dubbed this fight the fight of the century as Floyd ‘Money’ Mayweather took on Manny ‘Pacman’ Pacquiao. This fight was 5 years in the making and fight fans all over the world had been eagerly waiting to see these two boxers duke it out in the ring.

The fight raked in $4.6 million PPV buys and made an estimated $400 million. It is the highest-grossing PPV of all time. There was a late surge in PPV buys which caused the networks to jam for approximately 45 minutes, after which the fight finally started.

2. Manny Pacquiao Vs Shane Mosley 

This fight raked in $1.3 million PPV buys but failed to deliver on the hype. The fight went all the way, but Pacquiao suffered from cramps in between rounds and didn’t seem like himself.

Mosley failed to make any promising attacks or advances on the Filipino after he got knocked down by Pacquiao in the third round. Pacquiao won the fight on all three of the judge’s scorecards.

3. Manny Pacquiao Vs Oscar De La Hoya 

The welterweight title bout sold $1.25 million PPV buys making it another one of boxings’ highest-selling PPVs for Manny Pacquiao. The elusive Pacquiao put on a display of speed, power, and footwork.

After eight rounds of dominating the ring and dancing around De La Hoya, Pacquiao forced a TKO as De La Hoya’s corner confirmed that he couldn’t go on with the fight.

4. Manny Pacquiao Vs Juan Manuel Marquez III 

This fight also sold almost the same amount of PPVs as the De La Hoya fight, at $1.25 million PPV buys per Forbes. This was the third fight between the two boxers and Pacquiao won a controversial decision.

Many fans felt Marquez won the bout, even though Pacquiao won the fight on the judges’ scorecards.

5. Manny Pacquiao Vs Miguel Cotto

This was Pacquiao’s third fight that grossed around $1.25 million PPV buys. Pacquiao gave the fans what they paid for as he won by TKO in the final round of the fight.

6. Manny Pacquiao Vs Antonio Margarito 

$1.15 million PPV buys for this fight that saw Manny Pacquiao systematically destroy Margarito over the course of twelve rounds. Despite being shorter and lighter than his opponent. The ‘Pacman’ seemed to be too fast for Margarito to handle. Pacquiao won a unanimous decision with all the judges scoring in his favor.
