This weekend, Manny Pacquiao will look to resurrect his boxing stint in a bout against the WBA welterweight super champ, Yordenis Ugas. A fight between these two abruptly came to life, and it’s all set to take place in a perfect setting. Also, this is one of the most important fights of Pacquiao’s career, as his future in the sport depends on the result.

But apart from this upcoming matchup, there is another fighter who could match well with the Filipino Senator, i.e. pound-for-pound king, Canelo Alvarez. Over the course of time, fans have drawn major comparisons between this pair and they’ve always wanted to see them fight.

Unfortunately, these fighters never came close to facing each other inside the squared circle. However, in a chat with Fight Hub TV, Pacquiao shed some light on the probabilities of him fighting Canelo.

Pacquiao said, “Oh, he’s one of the best. He’s accomplished a lot and keep up the good work. I mean, his opponent is only himself. If he keeps on focusing in boxing and working hard, sacrifices, doing that discipline, he will last in boxing.”

“I think 54 (154-pounds) is too much for me because I’m 5’7”, 5’6”, 5’7”. If I became 5’9” then I can fight,” he added.
