Manny Pacquiao Celebrates Philippines’ First-Ever Olympic Gold Medal Win: “Thank You, Hidilyn Diaz”

The Tokyo Olympic games have stirred the entire sports world these days. Every athlete across enormous verticals is keeping a close eye on the stupendous activities going on in the Olympic games.

That said, the pride of Filipino boxing, Manny Pacquiao too is keeping himself updated with the same and he’s following his country’s progress in these high-profile games.

Recently, Philipines’ weightlifting stalwart, Hidilyn Diaz bagged a gold in the women’s 55 kg category. And with this, she made her entire country proud by giving them their first-ever gold in the prime Olympic games.

‘Pacman’ saw her performance throughout and he couldn’t sustain himself from congratulating her on his social handle. Taking it to his Twitter, he wrote, “Thank you, Hidilyn Diaz, for the first-ever Olympic Gold for the Philippines! We are so proud of you!”

Of late, Pacquiao is immersed in his stringent workout regimes for his upcoming war against Errol Spence Jr. This fight is one of the most important fights in the boxing legend’s career. But taking out time from his busy schedule, ‘Pacman’ wished Diaz for her exemplary show in the Olympics.

Just like Hidilyn Diaz, Pacquiao too will look to make his country proud on August 21st. Until now, he’s put Philipines on the boxing map effectively, and with time he’ll look ahead to making his country even more proud.

What’s more, the boxing veteran will make a comeback to the game after a long hiatus of almost two years. That said, the fans are already on their toes to see him take up the ring space against the best welterweight sensation in Errol Spence Jr.
