Former 8-division world champion Manny Pacquiao will make his return to boxing in December. He is seemingly following in his long-time rival Floyd Mayweather’s footsteps, as he will face DK Yoo in an exhibition bout in South Korea. Pacquiao retired from boxing back in 2021 following his loss to Yordenis Ugas but now looks to compete in exhibition bouts.

The bout will be a scoreless exhibition taking place in Seoul’s KINTEX Arena. However, there was some showmanship from the promoters ahead of the bout. The press conference was set to take place in Los Angeles, but Pacquiao was in Seoul. Instead, Pac-Man was brought in as a hologram to answer questions from the media. This was unusual, as fighters often use video chatting apps to appear in these situations.

Despite that, Pacquiao chose a much more fun and expensive way to face off against his opponent. Moreover, the aesthetics were interesting as Pacquiao answered questions seemingly from a box while DK Yoo appeared in person. Moreover, they were also part of a bizarre face-off using this futuristic technology.

Pacquiao made his intention following the exhibition very clear. He looks to make a full comeback into boxing at the age of 43. Moreover, he is seemingly interested in facing the winner of the much-anticipated bout between Terence Crawford and Errol Spence Jr.

Although he might be interested in facing the winner, the possibility of a fight is dependent on this bout. Both Crawford and Spence have been touted as two of the best pound-for-pound boxers in the world. However, a bout between them has never materialized, even after years of speculation. Furthermore, Pacquiao is now 43 years old and does not have a long window to wait for the bout to happen.
