The Filippino boxing legend, Manny Pacquiao, is all set to make his ring return after spending a considerable while outside the game. He will battle out the stout welterweight champ, Errol Spence Jr. on August 21 for the latter’s title defense.

This fight got abruptly finalized and nobody truly expected that these two would ever come face-to-face with each other. However, this contest between Pacquiao and Spence Jr. has still lured the boxing fans and everyone is keen to see how this bout will play out.

Recently, ‘Pacman’, who was at an interview with ES News, revealed the real reason why he picked Errol Spence Jr. as his next opponent. “Because I want a real fight. A real fight! That’s what I want,” he said.

The last time Pacquiao fought was in July 2019 against Keith Thurman. In that fight, the boxing veteran stepped in to defend his WBA super world welterweight title.

‘Pacman’, who was a favorite, performed as expected in the 12-round bout, emerging victorious with a split decision. This was another feather to his cap.

Prior to facing Spence Jr., the Bukidnon native’s team was even in talks to book a fight with Terence Crawford. Unfortunately, that fell through, and accordingly the 42-year-old got aligned to face ‘The Truth’.

‘Pacman’ wished for a stern adversary. And with his above comments, it’s clear that he wanted to test himself in deep waters.
