Manny Pacquiao Still Interested in Fighting ‘Slow’ Errol Spence Jr. – Open to Fighting in MMA

Boxing icon Manny Pacquiao has finally given an update on his next move. The current WBA welterweight champion revealed that he is not yet done and wants a crack at Errol Spence Jr. However, ‘Pac-Man’ also showed interest in fighting in an MMA bout.

This comes as a result of the constant rumors of a fight against Conor McGregor. Pacquiao has been out of action since his decision victory over Keith Thurman to become the champion.

After that fight, many fans felt the Filipino should have called time on his career. However, speaking to Business Mirror, Pacquiao said he wants to fight current WBC and IBF welterweight champion Errol Spence Jr.

He claimed that he fancies his chances against him. “He [Spence] is too slow… Spence is slower than Thurman, but it’s going to be a good fight,” said Pacquiao.

Pacquiao is referencing the American’s horrific car crash. Furthermore, the Filipino got past Thurman with relative ease and if he thinks that Spence Jr is slower, then maybe we could see a humbling for the American.

The iconic boxer also made a surprise admission in regards to the McGregor rumors. He said, “They’re my options, but right now I want to experience fighting an MMA.”

So could we see Pacquiao go one better than rival Floyd Mayweather and fight the Irishman in an MMA bout? As expected, ‘Pac-Man’ revealed the reason behind wanting to do an MMA fight.

He said, “I will also donate a big portion of my income to Filipino COVID-19 victims.” Thus, not failing to show his good side yet again.

This will come as a shock to many fans and followers; however, given that he is at the twilight of his career, it seems as though Pacquiao wants one or two big fights before he calls it quits. If that is the case, Errol Spence Jr. is surely the biggest fight in the division.
