Recently, Oscar De La Hoya interacted exclusively with K.O. Artist Sports. Here, he shed some light on the Pacquiao vs Ugas fight and revealed what the Cuban boxer did right.
“The times that he wasn’t disciplined, Manny Pacquiao would just eat him alive. He would, he would land his combinations. But the fact that look the mistake that we did as bigger guys going into a Manny fight is that we thought we were the bigger guy, the stronger guy, so we want to go in there and attack him.”

“That’s the mistake, because he’s gonna wait for you and just tag you. Ugas stayed back, he stayed back, and he knew what he was doing and he stayed disciplined,” he said.
Ugas had a definite advantage of his reach and height. And he used the same for his full benefit. That said, he adopted the strategy of hitting and not getting hit in return. As a result, ‘Pacman’ had to work supremely hard to land his best hits.
