“Manny Pacquiao Would Just Eat Him Alive”: Oscar De La Hoya Gives Bizarre Take on Ugas vs. Pacquiao

Manny Pacquiao, in his last fight against Yordenis Ugas, suffered a dreadful loss. The fight took place for the latter’s WBA welterweight super title and, despite being the underdog, Ugas fared exuberantly well and didn’t lose focus till the last bell. His special performance put him on top that night and he came out as a clear winner.
Recently, Oscar De La Hoya interacted exclusively with K.O. Artist Sports. Here, he shed some light on the Pacquiao vs Ugas fight and revealed what the Cuban boxer did right.
“The times that he wasn’t disciplined, Manny Pacquiao would just eat him alive. He would, he would land his combinations. But the fact that look the mistake that we did as bigger guys going into a Manny fight is that we thought we were the bigger guy, the stronger guy, so we want to go in there and attack him.”

“That’s the mistake, because he’s gonna wait for you and just tag you. Ugas stayed back, he stayed back, and he knew what he was doing and he stayed disciplined,” he said.
Ugas had a definite advantage of his reach and height. And he used the same for his full benefit. That said, he adopted the strategy of hitting and not getting hit in return. As a result, ‘Pacman’ had to work supremely hard to land his best hits.
In the above interview, De La Hoya too asserted the mistake he and other lanky guys did against Pacquiao. But ’54 Milagros’ had a sharp intent, and he stuck to his game plan throughout.
Is Manny Pacquiao capable of beating Yordenis Ugas in a rematch?
Pacquiao confessed about being eager to fight Ugas once again. He is ecstatic to avenge his loss and as a result, the Filipino Senator would do anything to lock horns with his rival.
