Mayweather Promotions CEO Planning a UK Tour for Gervonta Davis

Last weekend, Gervonta Davis put on a clinical performance against Mario Barrios to dethrone him from the WBA super-lightweight title spot. This was his very first fight at this weight class and he rolled out a performance for the ages. With the fight he put on, it’s obvious that he’ll be a hot topic in the boxing world from hereon.

That said, his promoter and the CEO of Mayweather Promotions, Leonard Ellerbe, has decided to escalate ‘Tank’s fanbase. He will plan a tour for the undefeated boxer soon. This will be in the UK so that Davis gets to interact with his fans across the pond.

Michael Benson revealed this news on his official Twitter handle and sent Gervonta Davis fans into a frenzy.

‘Tank’, in his last fight against Barrios, employed one of his finest strategies to date. He went toe-to-toe against a bigger and undefeated foe and certainly held his own within the ropes. ‘El Azteca’ had his fair share of moments in the ring and at one point it seemed as if would defeat Davis if the fight went to the judges’ scorecards.

But, by employing his power and solid fight IQ, ‘Tank’ battered ‘El Azteca’ in round 11 itself and claimed a magnetic win. This was his finest performance to the date, wherein he made spontaneous adjustments to turn the tide in his favor.

With that, the Maryland native has solidified his spot in the stacked 140-pound roster, sending a cosmic statement all around the world.

The current boxing world is filled with talented boxers who promise to embark on a long roadway in the game. However, among all these contenders, Gervonta Davis has made a place of his own.

Until now, he’s proved his mettle in every weight class he’s fought at. And since he has trained his focus on the super-lightweight landscape, ‘Tank’ has turned into an even intimidating prospect. Hence, with titles across three divisions, he can be called the best young boxing star at present.
