Michael B. Jordan will appear in the third installment of the Creed franchise, which will soon be released. The movie is based on Jordan’s character Donnie, who is a boxer. As a cherry on top, boxing fans would be delighted to know that Mexican boxing sensation Canelo Alvarez would be seen in the movie. Jordan recently made some assertions, though, that Sylvester Stallone’s supporters would find disappointing.

Talking about his upcoming film Creed III, Michael B. Jordan discussed how Donnie wouldn’t have been introduced if it wasn’t for Sylvester Stallone’s Rocky Balboa. Rocky will always be a pillar in Donnie’s life, he continued. But for the franchise and the character, Creed III ushers in a new era.

“It was really important from a storytelling perspective to get to a pivotal point in Donnie’s career a few years down the line where he has really established himself with his professional career and his family,” said Jordan.

In the first two installments of Creed, Rocky Balboa (Sylvester Stallone) appears as Donnie’s (Michael B. Jordan) coach. Stallone won’t be in the forthcoming version of the movie, though. To the best of the fans’ knowledge, the movie is scheduled to premiere on March 3, 2023.

Sylvester Stallone opens up about not wanting to do anything with Creed III

Sly’s rags-to-riches tale, which features his successful film ‘Rocky’, is highly intriguing. His chances of succeeding in Hollywood had vanished. But he saw a boxing match between Muhammad Ali and Chuck Wepner, which gave him the idea for ‘Rocky’.

Stallone recently called Creed III producer Irwin Winkler “nefarious” while discussing the Rocky spinoff Creed III. Since the first part of the film, Stallone had no ownership of Rocky and only participated out of need.

He said he never wants to see Creed III and further added, “I wrote it. I thought it would be nice to say, ‘Here’s the gesture darling here. Beautiful children, beautiful wife. When I’m long gone, this is you. This is what I made for you.’”

Apparently, now the sensational Rocky Balboa won’t be seen back on the screen. The news came as sad news for fans. Meanwhile, what are your thoughts on Jordan’s views on removing Stallone’s character? Share it in the comments below.
