Therefore, it was no surprise when Phelps wanted to buy a house in the same neighborhood as other great athletes. Back in 2016, before he won his 28th Olympic medal in Rio, Phelps made a huge property investment. He purchased the rightly named “Flying Fish” home and also paid a hefty sum to buy this dream house in the Paradise Valley Resident.
It was reported that he dished out $2.5 million for this home, which was a considerable chunk of his $100 million net worth. However, it seemed like the home was worth this sum, as the neighborhood consisted of homes of other celebrities, including Mike Tyson and Muhammad Ali. The home was spread across 6,010 square feet, having five enormous bedrooms, six-and-a-half bathrooms, and of course, a swimming pool.
Despite their initial investment, Phelps and his wife decided to move out of the home selling the property for $3.5 million. Although his stay was short, the former Olympic champion can certainly boast that he was the neighbor of Iron Mike.
