That said, Mayer put out a clinical showdown and landed more shots in the later rounds. Although it was an extremely close-call, Mayer still outpointed her opponent on the papers and notched a comfortable win. Here’s how the fight went down.
Mikaela Mayer has finally tasted the world champion title
Coming off strong with a record of 13 wins and zero losses, Mayer was confident throughout the build-up of the fight. No wonder she displayed a similar stance inside the ring. In the latter rounds, Mayer looked more confident as she became the aggressor. She dictated the fight for a commendable period. She took control over the ring and didn’t let Brodnicka arrive with much action. However, the Polish also deserves some respect since she took Mikaela Mayer to the distance. Yet, it wasn’t enough to grab the world title.
