The WBO super-featherweight title bout between the stout Mikaela Mayer and Erica Farias stayed true to the buzz created around it. Both the female boxing stalwarts went all out against each other and kept the fans glued to the TV screens. But, in the end, it was Mikaela Mayer who fought like a lionheart and claimed a sensational win.

In the initial rounds, Farias was the oppressor. She even remained successful in landing her cosmic right hands on Mayer. Also, the latter didn’t quite have a sublime response to Farias’ extensive power. The Argentinian boxer executed her game plan efficiently and did exactly what she strategized.

However, as the fight reached the halfway mark, Mayer revealed her game plans, coming out with some slick counterattacks and uppercuts to stun Farias. She continued with her assault and decoded the 36-year-old’s style. Both the fighters traded a considerable amount of punches. Nevertheless, Mayer dominated the latter half of the contest.

The underdog Farias, too, fared well as she went the distance with the champ. As the fight moved towards the concluding rounds, Mayer attacked her opponent’s body with her powerful right hands.

Mayer performed the way everyone expected, and she displayed a champion mentality to turn the tide in her favor. With this win, she improved her resume to 15-0.
