Mike Tyson gives the reason Alvarez lost

Perez and Tyson discussed Alvarez’s loss on the Hotboxin’ podcast, as Perez claimed she thought Alvarez lost because of his ego getting the better of him.

She said, ” I have nothing against Canelo. I think he’s a fine man. You know, some people say decent bad about him. I don’t care about all that stuff, but I think what happened was his ego got in the way, he thought he could take on a bigger man“.  Moreover, she then added that Alvarez overlooked him and was not ready for Bivol, ” But Bivol, he didn’t study him he wasn’t ready for him, he overlooked him, he shouldn’t have overlooked him he should have gotten very very serious about him you know.” She added.

Tyson goes on to agree with Perez and stated that Alvarez’s overconfidence was the reason for his loss,” I agree 300 percent that he overlooked him I’m a fighter I know how that goes you say I beat everyone else how could I not beat this bum”. He said.

Tyson also added that if Canelo could build up a desire to really compete he would not have lost,” but listen if he builds his desire up and really wants to fight and go all out win or nothing I think he’d give a better performance than his last one.” He added.
