Back in the 90s, boxing saw its biggest star in form of Mike Tyson, who took the heavyweight division by storm. With his intimidating power, fierce trash talk, and magnetic persona, ‘Iron’ Mike rose to the apex in no time. As famous as he was for his actions inside the squared circle, the 54-year-old was equally known for the same outside it.

In a Hotboxin podcast, Tyson unveiled an anecdote about punching fans in his top-graded boxing days.

“I’m a street guy from Brooklyn, right! And it was cool, but once it got like (when a fan rushed onto him) I just boom, I used to hit them, the fan. Boom, get the f**k away from me, motherf***r. You could have got too much. They don’t know if my mother died, they don’t know my sister, they don’t know if I broke up with my girlfriend and it’s running in my face,” he said.
